It's been great browsing the Auckland Museum's bookplates collection. For me the bookplate is an inspirational form of art. They are small, detailed and express in elegant ways the artifacts of the medium. The work from Exquisite ex Libris 1900-1950 covers a range of subject matter; playful and mythical, modern and classical, eastern and western influences.

The Museum has a nice on-line database with pictures of a lot of the work.
